When we are planning our exercise pre-cancer treatment we are not necessarily concerned about side effects.

Side effects can affect our energy and the way we feel, and if we plan ahead and prepare for the possibilities of nausea or diarrhea during treatment, we can put in place meals that will maintain our gut biome, balance are her moans and assist with the side effects caused by the treatments. 

Another really important consideration is that it is vital to your long-term success and health to maintain a movement/exercise program during your treatment.

Studies show that maintaining an exercise program during treatments not only establishes better long-term outcomes physically, mentally the studies show that cognitive damage can be almost completely repaired.

Here is a recipe that will help with side effects for nausea and diarrhea, and give you energy 

so that you can get out there walk and do your regular upper body workout and strengthening.

Enjoy the moist goodness of fresh banana bread in the convenient shape of a muffin. If you like your muffins sweeter, try adding chocolate chips.

Ingredients

8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter, softened

1 cup apple sauce

½ cup plain Greek yogurt

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 cups flour. (Any flour can be used)

1 teaspoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon ground ginger

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup mashed overripe banana

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with muffin cups or parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream butter with brown sugar, yogurt, eggs, and vanilla.
Whisk in banana.

In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and salt.

Mix together the wet and dry ingredients in a large bowl until combined.

Divide batter evenly into prepared muffin tin.

Bake until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes.
